Chain (on 400) can be replaced by belt (650)(+)

If you own ls400 with chain final drive u can replace stars in motor and on the rear wheel with front and rear pullies from 650 & chain with belt. My mechanic has replaced me an engine. From 650 to 400. But 400 was with chain and star. He has changed star from the motor to pulley. He says tha ls400 can be changed into drive-belted.
